Frantic February

Another month down. Hard to believe that it's already been 2 months since the New Year. Time seems to be flying by, which is both a good thing and a bad thing.

For starters, it's great because it eases the waiting time for a reply from the publisher I submitted 'No Angel' to. Six to eight weeks is a hellishly long wait when the fate of your baby is on the line. As of writing this it's been thirty-nine days since I clicked send. Right now I'm getting anxious whenever my mac beeps to say I've got mail. Is it them? Have they said yes? Oh my god, what if they hated it? Oh, never mind, it's just someone else tagging me on Facebook. Dammit!

I've been thinking about what I might do if they say no. Do I go through the wait again with a second publisher? I do have one in mind to try, but oh my god the waiting time. I don't know how all you other authors manage to stay sane! If the second attempt fails, then I'll probably look at self-publishing again.

Meanwhile, I've been working on Daeva 3 and on the Zombie Boyz short. Working a stressful full-time job means I generally don't have much time for writing on the evening, though I've been doing my best to get a small amount done each night. However, time seems to be slipping through my fingers and before I know it the week is gone with less writing done than I had hoped. Maybe I need to set myself another NaNo-type challenge. That seemed to work well last November. Either that or I could use my superpowers to warp time and give myself a seventy-two hour day. Maybe then I'd have enough time to do everything I wanted.

Speaking of things I want to do... GRL registration is looming. Yay! Having been last year, I'm super excited about Atlanta. I met some many great people, who I can't wait to see again. But before that, there's the UK GLBTQ fiction meet. I'm all signed up for that, and can't wait for my first visit to (C)anal street. I've heard it's fricking awesome!

Well, that's February in a nutshell. I'll be back next month, if my fingertips aren't worked to the bone! :)
